Meet Mongolian paleontologist Bolor Minjin. She has made protecting and preserving the fossil heritage of the Gobi desert her mission in life. Bolor's the founder and director of the Institute for the Study of Mongolian dinosaurs. In 2012, she was instrumental in stopping the sale of an illegally collected Tyrannosaur baatar skeleton from her country. Hers is a fascinating and not often heard story.

You'll find Maya Tolstoy, PhD both on land and on the ocean floor. An Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Columbia, University, she is also a marine geophysicist, who specializes in seafloor earthquakes AND volcanoes. Dr. Tolstoy has participated in 31 ocean-going expeditions - leading or co-leading more than half of them. In 2005, she was part of director James Cameron's expedition that filmed the 3-D Imax documentary "Aliens of the Deep." Does Maya have plenty to share? You betcha!

Never underestimate the power of a girl and her pen. It's that philosophy that propelled Keren Taylor to start WriteGirl, an non-profit literacy program for underserved 13-18 year old girls in the L.A. area. Since its inception in 2001, it has helped hundreds of teens find their voices/calling and in 2013, Michelle Obama presented Keren and WriteGirl with the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award, the highest honor given to such endeavors. And just this year, Keren was selected a CNN Hero for her creative efforts to help young people. She is truly an inspiration.
