It's no surprise that there are far fewer women conductors than there are men. HOWEVER, the times, they are a changin.' Women are cracking that glass ceiling and while the percentage is small, it only serves to encourage other women to pick up the baton. One of those women is Kalena Bovell, Assistant Conductor - Memphis Symphony Orchestra. She has an impressive resume, having worked at the Civic Orchestra of New Haven, the Hartford and St. Louis Symphonies. Join us as Kalena shares her love, passion and joy for making beautiful music.

An accomplished violinist, Afa is a recipient of Kennedy Center's Human Spirit Award and was named one of Musical America's Top 30 Influencers. Eva Noblezada took Broadway by storm several years before being named one of the honorees of Forbes Magazine's prestigious 30 under 30 list for 2020. At the 'ripe old' age of 17, Eva was cast as Kim, the lead in the 2014 and 2017 revivals of MISS SAIGON, for which she earned her first Tony nomination for Best Actress in a musical. Tony nomination #2 was for her performance as the Eurydice in the hit musical HADESTOWN. And now, Eva's impressive list of credits includes the big screen. She makes her film debut in YELLOW ROSE - which follows a Filipino teenager in Texas, determined to pursue dreams of becoming a country music star. Violist Molly Carr and pianist Anna Petrova make beautiful music together and audiences around the world are so grateful! Acclaimed international soloists, the two joined forces and formed the Carr-Petrova Duo. In August, 2018, they launched "Novel Voices," a year long initiative aimed at raising awareness of the lives and struggles of refugees around the world. They visited 8 camps in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East performing, holding workshops and filming the life stories of their diverse audience members. This is an important, moving conversation with 2 committed, talented and not easily intimidated women who are making a difference!

Breanna Sinclaire's life is the stuff operas are written about. She happens to be the only operatic soprano in the world who is transgender. Born in Baltimore, Breanna made her way west - graduating from the California Institute of the Arts where she earned a BFA and where her transition began. There were some very dark days following graduation and her acceptance to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she earned an MFA. Breanna was the first transwoman in the opera program. She made her debut with the San Francisco Symphony on New Year's Eve. 3 years earlier, Breanna sang the National Anthem at an Oakland A's baseball game before a crowd of 30,000. There's no way you won't be impacted by Breanna's extraordinary journey to find her true, authentic self.

For Andrea Grody her extensive resume is a testament to her talent. She's the Music Director, Supervisor, Vocal and Incidental Arranger for the Broadway hit musical TOOTSIE. She 'did' the same for THE BAND'S VISIT, which won 10 Tony Awards. Andrea's whose Off-Broadway and regional theater credits are extensive, also wrote STRANGE FACES, a full-length musical. There's a lot to learn about musical theater from this inspiring, accomplished, creative woman.

Singer/songwriter/actress/activist - all describe Margo Seibert. She began her acting career in Washington, D.C. made the move to NYC in 2010 where she was cast as Adrian in the Broadway musical ROCKY; originated the role of Jane in Broadway's first a cappella musical IN TRANSIT and starred in the world premier of THE THANKSGIVING PLAY. Then there's Margo's solo album, "77th Street" which features original songs that incorporate eclectic rock and folk influences. Once again, lots to talk about with this multi-talented guest.
